The society "Latvijas Nacionālā Kūdras Biedrība" was established with the aim of promoting collaboration among organizations involved in the management and research of peat bogs and peat resources, to support the sustainable management of peat resources in Latvia.

• Development of the Sustainable Use Strategy for Peat Bogs and Peat Resources 2050

• Actively participate in the development of national strategies and regulations, as well as industry policies at both national and international levels.

• Collaborate with individuals and legal entities, state and municipal institutions, businesses, and non-governmental organizations at national and international levels, promote their involvement, enhance knowledge, foster mutual cooperation, understanding, and communication, to jointly find solutions for the sustainable management of peat bogs, as well as to achieve the society's goals.

• By organizing training and events, promote the qualification development of companies involved in peat extraction and processing, to implement sustainable peat bog management focused on environmental protection and achieving climate goals.

• Develop and implement projects and programs whose necessity is determined by Latvian and European Union legislation, or which are necessary for promoting the development of the industry.
